As others have noted, Roku's troubleshooting help is scarce.Showbox is one of the famous entertainment applications available for Android devices. Some website said that meant it needs new batteries, but that seems to make no difference and the other buttons still work. When I remove the headphones, I can still hear the muffled screech from the remote. The new remote added a new feature: Sudden, shrieking feedback through the headphones. I returned the unit to Best Buy, who did an even exchange with no trouble. Just a second or two, but still startling.

Then it started switching the sound from the TV to the remote without the headphones plugged in. If I left the back off, I could fix it temporarily by clicking a battery in and out.

I replaced the batteries several times with no lasting effect. Plugging and unplugging the headphones had no effect, but the other buttons were functional.

The customer service number just kept telling me to do it online however I had to contact Roku to get the permission and info to return it which they will not respond to give me.Īfter a few weeks, I had trouble with the sound suddenly stopping in the headphones and snapping back to the TV speaker (at full volume). It also was very slow and just didn't work right. It started overheating about 45min after I started using it so I had to turn it off and unplug it. It's been over a week and I cannot get anyone to help me replace or return my Roku. My mother's works fine however mine does not and I can't use it or get a response from customer service. I recently purchased a 2 roku sticks one for me and one for my mother.

I've been with roku since they first came out I even purchased a few for my parents pretty much every few years. I don't get upset when I have problems with a product I've purchased unless it's not corrected in a timely manor. Out of all this time and devices I've had one previous issue with a roku 3 which they sent out a replacement with return box the day I called and I received it about two or three days later and I was very happy. As I said before I've been with roku for many years since 2008 I believe and I've purchased quite a few items since then. I also wasn't happy about having to pay return shipping and shipping on the new device but I'm happy this is not the case. I am not upset the device is defective as it happens to the best of companies I was upset over the complicated process of contacting support. Roku is definitely the best streaming device available with fast and easy interface the most content so I'm happy this is getting resolved. It used to be much easier and faster but as long as they replace the defective item I'm happy. This is exactly what I wanted so I changed my rating to 4 stars lacking 1 star for the trouble I had to go through to get ahold of someone and the time it took to do so. I have finally been able to speak with a roku representative and they have assured me that I will be receiving a replacement roku in a few days with a return package.
